It was only a few months ago that Eagles Defensive Coordinator Jim Johnsonwas preparing for the NFC Championship Game against the Arizona Cardinals. Now, Jim Johnson now gears up for probably the fight of his life, Cancer. In 2001, Jim JOhnson was diagnosed with Skin Cancer. Recently, Jim Johnson has been dealong with extreme pain in his lower back. When doctors performed an MRI on Johnson, it had revealed that Jim Johnson had a tumor that was near his spine.
Since the tumor is near such a vital area such as the spine, doctors have recommended that Johnson undergo Radiation Therapy to help reduce the tumor. According to NFL.com, Johnson has responded very well to the treatment and it is said that Johnson does not have any plans for surjery, or any plans that involve him not coaching. He has begun to strengthen his workload and is looking strong coming into the NFL Draft and offseason mini-camps. I wish him nothing but the best.
